Thank you for coming to Tucson History Day presentations.  The students were very excited to share their research and projects with you.  Your support is greatly appreciated by both students and teachers.  On April 29th, students will share their projects at All School Chapel in the Student Center (gym).  They are to wear their costumes to school and bring uniform clothes to change into after chapel concludes.  You are welcome to join us.

Warmer weather is an excellent reminder that refillable water bottles, hats, and sunscreen are valuable tools for our daily comfort while in school.  Additionally, children with allergies may want their own small supply of throat lozenges when increased coughing causes throat irritation.

Carsten Peters Amazing Volcano…

Blast! Crash! Splash! Nature’s Power is the focus of Language Arts unit seven.  Students will explore the BIG question “What forces can change Earth?” Reading comprehension skills in the unit are studied through narrative poetry, a photo essay, historical fiction, and an online article.  These selections build understanding of several skills; draw conclusions, cause and effect, and author’s purpose.  The unit’s Grammar lessons are about adverbs.

Our class is starting a new unit about multiplication and division called Larger Numbers and Multi-Step Problems. This unit is the third of three units in Grade 3 that focus on multiplication and division. In our math class, students spend time discussing problems in depth and are asked to share their reasoning and solutions. It is most important that children accurately and efficiently solve math problems in ways that make sense to them. At home, encourage your child to explain his or her math thinking to you.
